Your lifestyle will also improve when your income increases, so your entire salary increase does not have to go into investments.

A useful thumb rule discussed in the podcast is: if your salary goes up by 20%, your investments could go up by around 13% to 14%.

For example, if your take-home goes from around ₹2 lakh to ₹2.35 lakh, your SIP could go up by ₹20,000–₹25,000, while the remaining increase gives you some lifestyle buffer.
