My spouse handles all our investments and I know almost nothing. Is that risky?

Your opinion Ravi?
Yes. Ravi describes this as absolutely risky.
Life has its own uncertainty. If one spouse manages all the finances and something happens to that person, the other spouse should not suddenly be left wondering what investments exist, where the money is held or whom to contact.
Both partners should gradually understand what life insurance policies exist, where those policies are kept, what investments the family owns and who needs to be contacted if something happens.
That understanding cannot be created overnight.
Both husband and wife should ideally participate in the financial-planning discussions so that either person can manage things independently if required.
“Nobody knows when who will pass away and you cannot be caught in a state of surprise.”
“It is planning that we’re doing for the entire family. It is not for one person or the other person.”
