Every advisor's SEBI registration is verified directly with SEBI before any listing decision is made. Foliyo AI confirms that the advisor holds all licences legally required to practise as an Investment Adviser under SEBI — not just that a registration number exists, but that it is active and in good standing.
Advisors with lapsed, cancelled, or incomplete registrations are not listed on Foliyo AI, regardless of their experience or other qualifications.

In most cases, Foliyo AI speaks directly with existing clients of the advisor being evaluated. This provides a first-hand perspective on the client experience — what it is actually like to work with that advisor — that no self-reported application can replicate.
Reference conversations are used to cross-validate what the advisor describes in the interview against what clients have actually experienced.
Passing Foliyo AI's evaluation earns a listing on the platform — it does not guarantee permanence. After an advisor is listed, Foliyo AI monitors client feedback on an ongoing basis.
Advisors who no longer meet the standard that earned them a listing are removed. A listing is meaningful precisely because it can be lost.
The result is that only a small minority of advisors who apply to be listed on Foliyo AI are ultimately listed — and of those, only those who maintain their standard remain on the platform.
The vetting process establishes a meaningful minimum threshold — 5 years of verifiable experience, an active SEBI registration, a direct interview, and in most cases client reference checks. This is a more substantive evaluation than most advisor directories require.
